Somehow my original filter was misplaced. After a week of just the paper filters, it was time to get a new Cuisinart filter. What a difference!

These coffee filters are great as long as you are careful in the washing of them. As with anything you hope to use for a long time. I believe I am using the same one I received with the coffee maker for about a year now. Now need to use paper filters, so maybe it should be considered green technology.

Disposable filters are not that expensive but I still dont like the idea of continously spending money on them. My only concern with a reusable filter would be germs however, the water going through it is ususally hot so that would kill the germs. I guess I have mixed feelings. you do have to take time to clean them.
