This item yields excellent coffee as long as you have good quality beans, way better than Starbucks in my opinion. Be careful with the handle though when you tighten it. This is my second moka express purchase because I broke the handle.

This thing makes awesome coffee! I am currently borrowing one from a friend to see how I like it. The first batch was a bit bitter (I've seen complaints of this in other reviews), but I turned the stove from medium-high to medium and that was great. I also tried, as per a recommendation on another site, put in a tsp of sugar (in a 3 cup maker). It might be slower than a big espresso machine, but I'd bet that the whole set up, making, and cleanup is a lot faster. These things are a breeze to clean out, even easier than my Cory vacuum pot.

I love my Bialetti espresso coffee pot that I purchased from Amazon.com. It is made of a very heavy gauge of aluminum, ulike other flimsy ones, it is imported from Italy and makes the best expresso ever!

The one thing I'd like to add to all the great reviews is this. You need to buy the bodum porcelain cups. The volume put out matches perfectly with the cups capacity.
Buy these together and you'll have a perfect coffee experience.

My mom used to make coffee in one of these style coffee makers as a special treat for she and I when I was girl, and I've always had one. But I misplaced mine a while back and just finally replaced it with this model.
It works just wonderfully. Fill the bottom with cold water, put grounds in the filter basket, screw on the top, put it over a low flame on my gas range. Give it about 7-8 minutes and there is wonderful coffee. The scent of coffee made this way fills your house. The flavor is great too if you're using good quality beans you like because the extraction is steamed and works fairly quickly once it starts, the beans release good flavor and a bit of coffee oils into the finished coffee. One of the best ways to have a nice full flavored cup of coffee.
Easy to use, easy to clean. Don't put this in the dishwasher. Just give it a good rinse. If it does need more, use a clean, wet, soft cloth or sponge, the sort you would use on a non-stick pan.
My husband lived in Italy for a while and he really appreciates a good cup of coffee made this way as well.
Very recommended.
