If I could return I would and buy a different cuisinart that has a glass carafe. This stainless pot does not keep coffee HOT when using the automatic brewing in the morning. I had a different grind and brew with a glass pot and wish I had stuck with that one.

I'm so disappointed with the Cuisinart DGB-650BC. This is my 3rd Cuisinart in 4 years and I am done. They do have a great customer support staff but I no longer have faith in their products. I rather have a solid built product so I don't spend my time calling the reps for returns.

Specifically, my gripe with the this model is that it continues to overflow and creates a mess of my counter tops, cabinets and kitchen floor. I have placed several support calls and they send me parts to replace but I have reason to believe the issue is with the design. I removed the anti-drip nozzle which alleviated the spillage but gave this unit to my mom who is not a coffee drinker so it looks nice on the counter. That's all its worth. I know have a DeLonghi brewing my daily cup of joe.

I recently bought this product through Amazon after a piece of plastic came off of the last grind and brew we had and I was getting tired of putting a rock on it to work!! I have had several of these kind of coffee makers, however this is the first one with a thermal carafe. The carafe makes me love this product! Coffee stays warm through the next day and taste fresh! I am only a morning coffee drinker and make it very early. I have not put it on the timer program as I like to use fresh water when I make it. But it is good to know that this is there if I ever need it. The noise of the grinder is actually not as loud as others I have had in the past. The one thing that is a bit cumbersome is the clean up....there is a lot to clean up! But I have gotten use to it and view it as just another morning ritual.

Please read all the directions before using. The coffeemaker is different from others I have had and I had a few missteps before getting it right! It's easy to use now.

Great coffee maker wish it had a bigger grinder. With grinder full I can only use 6cups of water for a decent pot of joe.

I previously owned one of these, and it lasted a long time until I broke the decanter. Getting a new replacement was going to take 3 months so I decided just to buy a new coffee maker instead. It lasted about 40 days before quiting. Just wouldn't make coffee. Returning it to Amazon is not worth the costs involved. Shipping, handling fee, refund deduction. I bought a Mr. Coffee at Target.

I purchased this item last year for $50 at Crate & Barrel. Surprised by the reviews that this model actually "broke" or "died" with a few months of use. I like mine because:

1) the reason I purchased it: it has a front-loading water and coffee filter system. My Mr. Coffee loaded from the top, and I have a galley-kitchen. Therefore, the only conceivable counter space for storage is under a cabinet. I had to keep moving my Mr. Coffee in order to load it.
2) it makes a great cup of coffee. The aroma button is wonderful, I must admit.
3) It's easy to clean and maintain.
4) Technically, you can set the alarm, so it auto-brews first thing in the morning, or to whenever you set it. However,

OH THE DIGITAL CLOCK!!! What was the manufacturer thinking??? I purchased my wonderful Mr. Coffee, but for the top-loading design, for $20 at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, and it had a clock I could actually read and a switch for AM or PM. This coffee maker is more expensive and the clock is a drag. I'm astounded that the company would go the cheap route on this, I always thought DeLonghi was more of an upscale brand. I definitely need my glasses, because there is no background light, and the numbers are the old-fashioned liquid-crystal display, which I remember the boys in elementary school thirty years ago all used to have the digital watches with the same display. I mean, please! Update this, for the love of the Lord!! And, with no switch to choose AM or PM, one has to stand like a fool for a ridiculous amount of time cycling through a twenty-four hour clock, and if you don't get the time exactly... beware, because if you hold the button down, the time picks up and moves rapidly, so you can sail right past the time you were aiming for, and if you are off by like ten minutes, for example, you can't just press a button to go backwards. You have to cycle ALL THE WAY through 24 hours to get back to the time you wanted. WHAT A PAIN IN THE NECK THIS IS!!! And now, the "set time" button is beginning to stick. I wanted 7:15, and when I let go, the button wouldn't stop. It stopped on 7:25! So, I had to cycle for 24 more hours to get back to 7:15. Stupid for a $50 coffee maker.

If you can live with this, then know that it makes great coffee. Just don't set it to auto-brew, so you can avoid the whole clock-thing. :))

I ordered this coffee maker due to its good review from real simple magazine. For the first 2-3 weeks my husband and I loved it. Coffee was great! Then one day it just stopped working. The light would say it was brewing and the clock was on but no coffee would brew. We are still in the process of contacting the maker but what a headache!
